Request deletion of your account and associated health data

⚠️ Important: This Action is Permanent

Deleting your account will permanently remove all your health data from our servers, including all blood pressure readings, medication logs, and historical trends. This action cannot be undone. Please export your data before proceeding if you want to keep a copy for your medical records.

How to Request Account Deletion

We provide two ways to delete your Blood Pressure Tracker account:

Option 1: Delete Account Within the App (Recommended)

  1. Open the Blood Pressure Tracker app on your device
  2. Go to Settings (tap the gear icon in the top right corner)
  3. Scroll down to Account Management
  4. Tap "Delete Account"
  5. Review what will be deleted (all health data listed below)
  6. IMPORTANT: Export your data before deletion by tapping "Export Health Data" - you may want this for your medical records
  7. Confirm deletion by typing "DELETE" and tapping the confirmation button
  8. Receive confirmation - You'll receive an email confirming your account deletion request

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email:

  1. Send an email to: toncho.dev@gmail.com
  2. Subject line: "Account Deletion Request - Blood Pressure Tracker"
  3. Include in your email:
    • The email address associated with your account
    • Your username (if you have one)
    • Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account and all health data
    • Optional: Request data export before deletion (we can send you your data)
    • Optional: Reason for deletion (helps us improve)
  4. We will respond within 48 hours to confirm your request
  5. Account deletion will be completed within 30 days

What Health Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your Blood Pressure Tracker account, the following sensitive health data will be permanently removed from our servers:

Heart Rate Data All pulse/heart rate measurements ✅ Deleted

Medication Records All medication names, dosages, schedules, adherence logs ✅ Deleted
Symptoms & Notes Any symptoms, notes, or comments you added to readings ✅ Deleted
Trends & Analytics Historical charts, averages, patterns, insights ✅ Deleted
Reminder Settings All medication and measurement reminders ✅ Deleted
Connected Device Data Bluetooth device pairings and settings ✅ Deleted
Exported Reports Any PDF reports generated by the app ✅ Deleted
App Preferences Theme, units, display settings ✅ Deleted
Backup Data All cloud backups and synced data ✅ Deleted

What Data May Be Retained

For legal, security, or legitimate business purposes, we may retain certain limited data:

Transaction Records 7 years Tax and accounting requirements (if you made purchases)
Email Correspondence 3 years Customer support records and legal compliance
Anonymized Analytics Indefinite Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics (NO health data)
Legal/Fraud Prevention Data As required by law Compliance with legal obligations, fraud prevention

Important: Retained data is anonymized or de-identified and cannot be linked back to you. NO health data (blood pressure readings, medications, etc.) is retained after account deletion.

Deletion Timeline

  • Immediate: Your account is deactivated and you cannot log in
  • Within 24 hours: Your health data is removed from active servers
  • Within 30 days: Your data is removed from all backup systems
  • Within 90 days: Your data is completely purged from all systems (except legally required non-health data)

Before You Delete Your Account

IMPORTANT: Consider these steps before permanently deleting your account:

  • Export Your Health Data: Download a PDF or CSV report of your blood pressure history - you may want this for your medical records or to show your doctor
  • Share with Healthcare Provider: Generate and send a report to your doctor before deletion
  • Consider Alternatives:
    • Pause reminders instead of deleting your account
    • Simply log out if you want to take a break
    • Contact support if you have a specific issue we can resolve

After Account Deletion

After your account is deleted:

  • You will no longer be able to access your blood pressure readings and health data
  • All your historical trends, charts, and medication logs will be permanently lost
  • You can create a new account, but your old health data cannot be recovered
  • Any premium subscriptions will be cancelled (refunds subject to app store policies)
  • Your email address can be used to create a new account after 90 days
  • We recommend keeping the exported data for your medical records

Data in Apple Health or Google Fit

Important Note: If you synced your data with Apple Health or Google Fit:

  • Deleting your Blood Pressure Tracker account does NOT delete data from Apple Health or Google Fit
  • You must manually delete health data from those platforms separately
  • Apple Health: iOS Settings → Privacy → Health → Blood Pressure Tracker → Delete All Data
  • Google Fit: Google Fit app → Settings → Manage data → Delete data
  • Health data in these platforms is managed independently by Apple and Google

Data Protection & Security During Deletion

We take the deletion of your sensitive health data seriously:

  • All data is securely erased using industry-standard deletion methods
  • Encrypted backups are destroyed after deletion
  • You'll receive email confirmation at each stage of the deletion process
  • Our deletion process complies with GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA best practices
